August 2025 Highlights: USA Bobsled/Skeleton

Upcoming Team USA Push Championships, Recruitment Updates, and a Look at the 2025/26 Season Schedule

PUSH CHAMPS ON THE HORIZON

With the 2026 Winter Olympics less than 175 days away, and the World Cup, Europe Cup, and North American Cup racing circuits starting in just a few months in November, USA Bobsled and Skeleton athletes are deep in training for the upcoming sliding season.

Team USA Bobsled Push Championships will take place in early September, followed by the Team USA Skeleton Push Championships in early October.

These events will serve as the kickoff for the 2025/26 sliding season as athletes test their starts on the push track after a summer full of intense training.

Team USA Bobsled Push Championships Schedule:

Monday, Sep 8

  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Individual Competition (Pilots)

Tuesday, Sep 9

  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Individual Competition (Women)

  • 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Individual Competition (Men)

  • 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Individual Competition (Men)

Thursday, Sep 11

  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Combo Competition (Women)

  • 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Combo Competition (Men)

Saturday, Sep 13

  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Combo Competition (Women)

  • 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Combo Competition (Men)

Team USA Skeleton Push Championships Schedule:

Friday, Oct 4, 2025

  • Men’s and Women’s competitions (exact timing TBA)

TALENT TRANSFER IN SLC

USA Bobsled/Skeleton hosted its second annual Slide to Glory Recruitment Combine in Salt Lake City on August 16, 2025, at the University of Utah’s McCarthey Family Track and Field Complex.

Athletes from across the nation came together in Salt Lake City to test their athletic skills in the following events:

  • 40-yard sprints

  • 5-10-5 shuffle

  • Broad and vertical jumps

  • Kneeling power-ball toss

  • Weighted sled push

The top male and female performers will now be flown out to Lake Placid, NY, for a Rookie Camp and a chance to test their skills on the ice track.

On the women’s side, Emma Reaves, a Utah State alumna, who competed in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and relay events, earned the top spot. On the men’s side, Braeden Holcombe, an alumnus of the U.S. Air Force Academy and a competitor in the heptathlon and decathlon, secured the top performance.

2025/26 SEASON SCHEDULES
