Chase Olympic Dreams Like Never Before: Slide to Glory 2026

It’s official - USA Bobsled and Skeleton (USABS) will host its third annual Slide to Glory Recruitment Combine on March 14, 2026, at the University of Utah.

At last year’s Slide to Glory event, dozens of athletes from across the country traveled to Salt Lake City to see if they had what it takes to transfer their athletic talents into the sports of bobsled or skeleton.

We are looking to recruit athletes with explosive speed, power, and a desire to represent Team USA on the world stage. While many USA bobsled and skeleton athletes have backgrounds in track and field or football, we recruit athletes from all athletic disciplines. Participants must be 16+.

Bobsled or skeleton may be sports you have been training for your entire life without realizing it. Many of the physical skills developed through other athletic disciplines directly translate to success on the ice track and help athletes develop strong pushes and starts.

Athletes at the combine will be tested in the following events:

  • 40 Yard Sprint
Measures straight line speed, acceleration, and maximum sprint velocity.

  • 5-10-5 Pro Agility Shuttle
Evaluates lateral movement, change of direction ability, body control, and overall quickness.

  • Vertical Jump
A primary indicator of explosive lower body power.

  • Kneeling Power Ball Toss
Measures upper body explosive strength from a controlled kneeling position.

  • Prowler Push Test
Assesses sport-specific pushing ability that closely replicates a bobsled or skeleton sled.

Top performing athletes from Slide to Glory will be invited to attend Rookie Camp, where they will have the opportunity to push a sled on ice and take the next step in the USA Bobsled and Skeleton recruitment pipeline.

No prior bobsled or skeleton experience is required to try out.

We hope to see you there - a future Winter Olympic champion for Team USA could be reading this right now!
