Olympic Dreams Begin Here

Learn more about the upcoming USA Bobsled/Skeleton "Slide to Glory" Recruitment Combine

USA Bobsled/Skeleton, the National Governing Body for the sports of bobsled and skeleton in the United States, is excited to announce that we will be hosting our second annual “Slide to Glory” recruitment combine on August 16, 2025, at the University of Utah’s Spence Eccles Field House (Guardsman Way, Salt Lake City, UT).

The top-performing male and female participants (two athletes total) will be flown to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY, where they’ll attend a rookie camp and have the opportunity to test their skills on the ice track.

No prior experience is required — we’re looking for raw athletic talent that can be transferred to one of these two thrilling winter sports.

Athletes will be tested in the following skills at the combine:

  • 10-yard sprint

  • 40-yard sprint

  • 5-10-5 shuffle

  • Broad jump

  • Vertical jump

  • Kneeling power-ball toss

  • Weighted sled push

Bobsled and skeleton are considered talent transfer sports, meaning most athletes start their athletic careers in other sports before transiting their skills to the ice track. This is a unique opportunity to extend your athletic career and chase the dream of one day representing Team USA on the biggest world stage - the Winter Olympic Games.
