RACING CONTINUES FOR TEAM USA IN 2025

WINTERBERG, GERMANY (January 5, 2025) - Team USA was back in action this week after a brief hiatus for the holidays. 

In Men’s Skeleton, Nick Tucker made his World Cup racing debut, placing 14th with a two-run time of 1:55.24. Austin Florian placed 19th with his run time of 1:55.84, followed by Dan Barefoot in 21st with a time of 1:56.48.

In Women’s Skeleton, Mystique Ro placed 11th with a time of 1:57.37, Kelly Curtis placed 22nd with a time of 1:58.04, Sara Roderick placed 23rd with a time of 1:58.16, and Katie Uhlaender placed 24th with a time of 1:58.20. 

In the Mixed Team Skeleton event, Roderick and Barefoot placed fourth with their combined run time of 2:01.38. Ro and Florian placed sixth with their combined time of 2:01.51.

In Women’s Monobob, Elana Meyers Taylor slid into a seventh-place finish with a time of 1:57.38. Kaysha Love placed tenth with a time of 1:57.60. Kaillie Armbruster Humphries placed 12th with a time of 1:57.66, followed by Sylvia Hoffman in 15th with a time of 1:58.00. 

In 2-Man Bobsled, Frankie Del Duca and Manteo Mitchell placed tenth with a combined run time of 1:49.59. 

In 2-Woman Bobsled, Armbruster Humphries and Emily Renna placed fourth with their two-run time of 1:54.76. Meyers Taylor and Lolo Jones placed 12th with a time of 1:55.53, while Love alongside Azaria Hill placed 15th with their time of 1:55.95. Hoffman and Bailey Golden slid into 17th with a time of 1:56.52. 

In 4-Man Bobsled, Del Duca, Charlie Volker, Dylan Gilbert, and Carsten Vissering raced in Heat One. In Heat Two, following an injury for Volker, Mitchell took his place for the second run. Team Del Duca placed 12th overall with a two-heat time of 1:49.15. 

Europe Cup

Prior to the holiday break, Team USA participated in the Europe Cup (EC) races that took place in Austria, with bobsled events taking place in Innsbruck and skeleton events taking place in Bludenz. 

In Monobob, Lauren Brzozowski placed fourth with a time of 1:50.62, while Hoffman placed eighth with a time of 1:50.87.

In 2-Man Bobsled, Kris Horn and Bryce Cheek placed ninth with a run time of 1:44.51, and Geoff Gadbois alongside Hakeem Abdul-Saboor placed 11th with a time of 1:44.56.

In Race 1 of 2-Woman Bobsled, Hoffman alongside Lauryn Hall placed 14th with a run time of 1:48.71. Riley Tejcek and Andin Fosam placed 17th with a time of 1:49.05. Brzozowski and Macy Tarlton placed 20th with a one-run time of 54.63. In race 2, Hoffman and Tarlton placed 14th with a time of 1:48.57. Brzozowski and Dominique Biron placed 20th with a time of 1:49.23. Tejcek and Fosam placed 22nd with a one-run time of 54.77. 

In 4-Man Bobsled Race 1, Gadbois, Adrian Adams, Boone Neiderhofer and Cheek tied with Horn, Josh Williamson, Hunter Powell and Martin Christofferson for sixth with a run time of 1:43.11. In Race 2, Horn, Williamson, Powell and Neiderhofer placed third with a time of 1:42.25. Gadbois, Collin Storms, Adams and Christofferson placed eighth with a time of 1:42.95.

Over in Bludenz in Women’s Skeleton Race 1, Ro secured a first-place finish with a run time of 1:04.99. Michelle Toukan placed seventh with a time of 1:06.33. In Race 2, Ro placed fourth with one-run time of 33.07. Toukan placed seventh with a time of 33.12. 

In Men’s Skeleton Race 1, in a one-heat race, Barefoot earned a silver medal from his 32.15 finish. Tucker placed 14th with a time of 32.55, Sam Allred placed 28th with a time of 33.28 and Darryl Payne Jr placed 35th with a time of 33.66.  In Race 2, Barefoot placed eighth with a one-run time of 32.11, Tucker placed 13th with a time of 32.27, Payne Jr placed 21st with a time of 32.57, and Allred placed 42nd with a time of 34.04.
