Skeleton Selection Races, Exciting New Collaborations, and Events on the Horizon

IT’S TIME FOR SKELETON SELECTION RACES
Team USA Skeleton will host Selection Races on October 31 and November 1 at Utah Olympic Park. Results from these two days of racing will help determine who earns a spot on the World Cup Team for the 2025-2026 sliding season.
The World Cup circuit is the highest level of annual bobsled and skeleton competition, featuring the top athletes from around the globe.
Races begin at 8 AM MT both days at Utah Olympic Park (3419 Olympic Pkwy, Park City, UT 84098). Fans are invited to watch in person or tune in live on the Utah Olympic Park YouTube page.
FLAVOR FLAV JOINS THE TEAM
USA Bobsled/Skeleton is thrilled to welcome Flavor Flav as an official sponsor and hype man for the team on the road to the 2026 Winter Olympics. The iconic rapper, TV personality, and founding member of Public Enemy even joined athletes for bobsled rides and skeleton runs at Utah Olympic Park over the weekend.
Flav also brought along some friends from Maroon 5—producer Noah "Mr. Mailbox" Passovoy, 5x Grammy winner and keyboardist PJ Morton, and bass guitarist Sam Farrar—for a passenger bobsled ride. Flav then surprised some athletes with backstage passes to Maroon 5’s Salt Lake City concert.
Flav plans to continue supporting the team in Milan-Cortina throughout the Olympics.
“This partnership is a blessing. It’s cooler than Cool Runnings. It’s Coolest Runnings,” Flav shared.
Aron McGiure, CEO of USABS, added, “Flavor Flav embodies the same grit, dedication, and pride that define our athletes, and we’re excited to have him bring that energy to our team and fans across the country.”
During his visit, Flav took two skeleton runs—one from a lower start and one from a higher start—reaching speeds of 66 mph sliding headfirst down the Olympic ice track.
He also took two bobsled rides, experiencing both a lower start and the very top start (Start 1) of the Utah Olympic Track.
TEAM USA HEADS TO CORTINA
Following the Skeleton Selection Races, the World Cup team will head to Cortina, Italy to begin sliding on the newly constructed Olympic Track. Athletes will get crucial pre-competition reps on the course ahead of its inaugural IBSF World Cup race.
Team USA Bobsled/Skeleton will spend the following months traveling across Europe, competing at various sliding tracks in World Cup races in the lead-up to the 2026 Winter Olympics. Based on season results, the 2026 Olympic Bobsled and Skeleton teams will be officially named on January 19, 2026.
