First Races of the Season and Upcoming Events
WORLD CUP RACING IS HERE
The 2025/26 World Cup season is finally here! The first tour stop kicked off on Nov 21 at the newly reconstructed track in Cortina, Italy, which in a few short months will host bobsled, skeleton and luge events in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
During the first tour stop, Kaysha Love won silver in the first bobsled World Cup race of the season and the first World Cup bobsled race ever on the newly redone track. The next day, she followed up her Monobob medal with a 2-Woman Bobsled silver alongside Azaria Hill. Kaillie Armbruster Humphries, the only athlete on the World Cup circuit to have raced on both the previous and the reworked Cortina track, won bronze in 2-Woman Bobsled alongside Sylvia Hoffman.
Mystique Ro and Austin Florian secured a top-six finish in Mixed Team Skeleton at the Cortina track, which will soon host the inaugural Mixed Team Skeleton Olympic events, placing fifth. Frankie Del Duca alongside Josh Williamson also secured a fifth-place finish in 2-Man Bobsled.
The second World Cup tour stop concluded yesterday in Innsbruck, Austria. World Cup Skeleton races for this tour stop were rescheduled to Sigulda, Latvia, on December 20 and 21.
In bobsled, Kaysha Love won the first gold of the World Cup season for Team USA in Women’s Monobob at the Austrian track. The next day, she won silver in 2-Woman Bobsled alongside Sylvia Hoffman.
In Austria, Frank Del Duca secured another extended podium finish, earning fourth with Boone Niederhofer in 2-Man. Kaillie Armbruster Humphries alongside Jasmine Jones placed fourth in 2-Woman, and Elana Meyers Taylor with Azaria Hill also broke the top six with a sixth-place finish.
The next stop on the World Cup sliding circuit will begin on December 12 in Lillehammer, Norway. Fans can livestream all races and view recordings of all World Cup races by heading to @IBSFsliding on YouTube.
EUROPE CUP SLIDING IN NORWAY
Athletes competing for Team USA on the Europe Cup (EC) circuit concluded their first tour stop in Lillehammer, Norway, yesterday.
Lauren Brzozowski earned the first podium finish of the 2025/26 EC sliding season for Team USA Bobsled, securing a third-place finish in the first race of Women’s Monobob in Norway.
Michelle Toukan earned the first podium finish of the 2025/26 EC sliding season for Team USA Skeleton, securing a third-place finish in the second race of Women’s Skeleton.
NORTH AMERICAN CUP RACING HAS BEGUN
On the NAC racing circuit, Team USA has wrapped up their first tour stop of the season in Whistler, Canada. In addition to the first NAC races of the year, Whistler also served as the location for the first Pan American Championships (PAC) of the year.
Liesel Baker earned the first podium finish of the 2025/26 PAC sliding season for Team USA Skeleton, securing a third-place finish in Women’s Skeleton.
The NAC Team is now in Park City, Utah, competing in races at their second tour stop, which will conclude on December 4, 2025. Stay tuned for a results recap from Park City coming later this week. Fans can livestream the action by heading to @UtahOlympicPark on YouTube.
