Team USA Races in St. Moritz and Lake Placid

ST. MORITZ, SWITZERLAND (January 7, 2026) - Team USA Skeleton athletes competed in an additional World Cup Men’s Skeleton race today following the cancellation of the Men’s Skeleton race last weekend at the Winterberg, Germany World Cup stop:
10th place - Austin Florian; 2-run time of 2:18.17
24th place - Nick Tucker; 2-run time of 2:19.73
27th place - Andy Whittier; 1-run time of 1:11.56
World Cup racing will continue in St. Moritz on January 9th with Women’s Skeleton, Men’s Skeleton Race 2, and Skeleton Mixed Team.
NAC Race Results
In Lake Placid, NY, the North American Cup (NAC) sliding circuit is underway, with many podium finishes for Team USA athletes.
In NAC 4-Man Bobsled, Team Mercer raced to two silver-medal finishes:
Race 1:
2nd place - Grady Mercer, Quinten Arello, Hakeem Abdul-Saboor, and Bryce Cheek; 2-run time of 1:50.37
Race 2:
2nd place - Grady Mercer, Quinten Arello, Hakeem Abdul-Saboor, and Bryce Cheek; 2-run time of 1:50.74
In NAC Skeleton racing, both Katie Uhlaender and Dan Barefoot won gold in their first of two races to be held:
Women’s Skeleton:
1st place - Katie Uhlaender; 2-run time of 1:50.99
9th place - Liesel Baker; 2-run time of 1:53.31
17th place - Lani Huyke; 2-run time of 1:56.25
20th place - Grace Otto; 2-run time of 1:56.72
Men’s Skeleton:
1st place - Dan Barefoot; 2-run time of 1:47.98
15th place - Hunter Williams; 2-run time of 1:50.41
23rd place - Lukas Kissell; 2-run time of 1:52.27
26th place - Tyler Madl; 1-run time of 56.35
27th place - Sam Allred; 1-run time of 56.37
28th place - Tyler Lutz; 1-run time of 56.53
NAC Skeleton races continue today with a second Women’s and Men’s Skeleton race.
