LAKE PLACID, NY (January 13, 2025) - The United States’ Skeleton Team has officially joined forces with Carpenter Technology

Carpenter Technology Corporation is a leader in high-performance specialty alloys and process solutions for aerospace, defense, medical, transportation, energy, industrial, and consumer markets. Founded in 1889, it specializes in premium alloys like nickel, cobalt, and titanium, offering advanced solutions to meet evolving material challenges.

The company is partnering with the U.S. Skeleton team to drive sled design and performance innovations. Skeleton is a sport where precision, aerodynamics, and material performance are critical, as even a fraction of a second can mean the difference between victory and defeat.

Carpenter Technology’s expertise in developing high-strength, lightweight, and durable materials perfectly aligns with the sport's demands. By applying advanced alloys and cutting-edge material science, the company will help optimize sled components to enhance stability, reduce drag, and improve overall responsiveness on the track. This collaboration aims to push the boundaries of sled technology, ensuring that every element—down to the smallest detail—supports maximum performance.

With the skeleton team’s drive for excellence and Carpenter Technology’s proven track record in high-performance solutions, this partnership has the potential to redefine competitive standards in the sport. It would give athletes a cutting-edge advantage as they pursue podium finishes on the world stage.

“At Carpenter Technology, we proudly support the United States Skeleton Team as they prepare to compete on the world's biggest stage. Our advanced alloy solutions have always been designed to optimize performance in critical applications, and this sponsorship embodies that commitment. Together, we aim to turn precision and innovation into victory,” shared Tony R. Thene, President and CEO of Carpenter Technology.

USA Skeleton initiated an informal partnership with Carpenter Technology in the early 2010s, when the company provided the team with high-quality materials to enhance speed technology for USA Sliders.

Matt Antoine, who is now the Head Coach of USA Skeleton, was among the athletes who collaborated closely with the company.

“It's exciting to be partnered with Carpenter Technology as we head toward 2026 and beyond! Their product and innovation will be an amazing resource to USA Skeleton as we work together to make advances in our sled technology and performance.  This is a proven relationship as I was fortunate enough to be a part of a past partnership with Carpenter Technology in the lead up to the 2014 Games. I'm excited for what's to come for our program,” shared Antoine.
